Classroom instruction is held at the Marriott Courtyard, 3935 Centerview Drive, Chantilly, VA.

The class begins at 9 AM and ends at approximately 5 PM. Students should eat a good breakfast, there will be a brief break for lunch in the afternoon.

Range time follows at Blue Ridge Arsenal in Chantilly, VA, starting at 7 PM and ending at approximately 9 PM.

Students may bring their own firearms, hearing, and eye protection; .22 caliber ammunition will be provided for all students using .22 caliber pistols. If your firearm does not use .22 caliber ammo, you purchase it at the range or bring the ammo to the range. If you purchase your ammo from an outside source, the range requires all handgun ammunition must be fully or partially jacketed, no cast lead bullets are allowed. NO LIVE AMMO is permitted in the CLASSROOM.

Even though this course is designed for beginning shooters, even experienced shooters refine their command of the fundamentals and discover new shooting skills during this course. This class or equivalent demonstrated proficiency is a prerequisite for the Personal Protection Course.

The cost of this course is $75. The class fee includes all class materials (books, handouts), plus use of a .22 firearm (pistol or revolver), 22 ammo and eye/ear protection. We accept cash or check. See the FAQ page for information on pre-registration procedures.
